Do I need to sign my child up with a set schedule?
No! We understand that schedules change and things happen which is why we are extremely flexible with scheduling. We offer the option to sign your child up for set days or you can use us on an “As Needed” basis. The As Needed option gives you the flexibility to have your child drop in to the program on any given day. Additionally, if you sign up for a set schedule, you can feel free to add or remove days if your schedule changes.
How do you charge? Do I pay daily, weekly, monthly?
You are only charged for the days that your child attends the program. You will receive a statement via email during the first week of the following month. For example: You will receive the statement for January attendance during the first week of February after we have tallied all of the days and times that your child attended.
What time does the program begin in the morning and close in the afternoon?
Our Before Care program operates from 7am – the first bell (for Elementary) and until 9am for PreK. The After School Program is open from dismissal until 6pm and you can pick up your child any time throughout the afternoon.
What is the student to teacher ratio?
For our elementary school students, we have a 10:1 student to staff ratio. For our PreK program, we operate at an 8:1 student to teacher ratio.
Who are the teachers in Before/After School and how are they screened?
Many of our Before and After school teachers currently work for the school district as TA’s or Aide’s or are currently studying or have graduated with degrees in Education. A majority of our staff have been with us between 5 – 19 years and all of our staff have a minimum of 1 year child care experience. All employees go through a strict screening process through our office and through the NY State Office of Children and Family Services. All employees provide at least 2 references, are fingerprinted, go through FBI background checks including criminal history and child abuse clearances and must complete a medical screening before being employed.
Where are the programs located?
Our programs are conveniently located in the Elementary schools. We utilize the cafeteria, blacktop/playground and gym at your child’s school. There is no transportation necessary as your child only needs to come downstairs to the cafeteria!
Are you open when schools are closed?
Our program follows the North Shore School District calendar. We are closed when schools are closed with the exception of certain days. We are open from dismissal – 6pm on early dismissal/half days and we are open from 7am – 6pm on Parent/Teacher Conference days and Superintendents Conference Days.
